Two Pennsylvania teens were killed and four hospitalized in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike near Cranbury, Sunday, October 11. According to New Jersey State Police, the vehicle carrying all six was traveling in the southbound truck lanes of the Turnpike when it crashed.
During the crash, the vehicle rolled over and two occupants, ages 19 and 16, were ejected. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The other four occupants were transported to an area hospital, and no word on their condition has been reported.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.Anyone with information is asked to contact Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Shadi Zaiton at 732-745-4263 or the New Jersey State Police Cranbury Station Detective Bureau at 609-860-9000, ext. 4424.
Rollover accidents are among the most dangerous types of car accidents because occupants may experience multiple violent impacts as a vehicle overturns. Ejection from the vehicle significantly increases the risk of catastrophic or fatal injuries, while those who remain inside can also suffer serious harm.
On high-speed highways such as the New Jersey Turnpike, rollover crashes can have devastating consequences for everyone involved.
