RAM Law Attorney Matt Bonanno Obtains $954,000 for Client

RAM Law attorney Matt Bonanno obtains $954,000 policy limits settlement for three RAM Law clients injured in a motor vehicle crash. The clients, all family members, were stopped on Route 18 at a red light when they were struck from behind.  The impact was so severe that it propelled the spare tire forward, striking the rear-seat passenger.

The driver suffered a concussion and multiple herniated discs in her neck and back, necessitating low back surgery.  As a result of her injuries, she was unable to return to her job as an in-home health aide.  Her husband, the front seat passenger, suffered injuries to his neck, back and knee, necessitating knee surgery.  The driver’s mother, who was seated in the back seat, injured her neck, back, shoulder and knee.  

The defendant was insured under a $1,000,000 insurance policy.  Prior to suit being filed, the carrier paid $46,000 for property damage claims and a bodily injury claim for the driver of another car involved in the collision.  After suit was filed, the carrier offered a global settlement of $400,000 in response to Mr. Bonanno’s policy limit demand, and advised that they would not be offering anything close to the remaining policy limits.  They changed their tune shortly before the end of discovery, when they offered the entirety of the remaining insurance coverage.  Matt never waivered on his demand that the case was worth all of the available of the insurance coverage.
