A pedestrian was struck by a car Wednesday night in Hillsborough. According to the Hillsborough Township Police Department, the collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Beekman Lane near Whitenack Court.
Officials said the injured pedestrian was treated and transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick by emergency responders from the Hillsborough Township Fire Companies, paramedics, and basic life support units from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. The driver, who remained at the scene, was uninjured.
A section of Beekman Lane was closed for nearly two hours while authorities processed the scene. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact the Hillsborough Township Police Department.

The state has recently launched pedestrian safety campaigns and crosswalk visibility enhancements to address the number of pedestrian-related accidents.
