RAM Law attorney, Tyler Hall, obtained a $450,000 settlement for a client whose vehicle was struck by a dump truck as it entered Route 1 in Edison, New Jersey. The client lost one of her front teeth in the accident and suffered orthopedic injuries to her shoulder, knees and spine. The client underwent two arthroscopic surgeries with mixed results and was unable to work for a lengthy period of time. Prior to litigation, the trucking company disputed responsibility for causing the accident and claimed that most of the client’s injuries were preexisting. Following discovery, it was proven that the truck driver violated the trucking regulations when he entered a roadway when it was unsafe to do so. In addition, RAM Law retained four medical and employment related experts who established that the client’s injuries were directly related to the collision.
The case was filed by RAM associate Tyler Hall in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Middlesex County. The case settled in the middle of discovery after the trucking company requested a settlement conference.
