A woman was struck and killed by a car Wednesday in Somerset County. According to the North Plainfield Police Department, she was crossing Norwood Avenue near the intersection of Manning Avenue when she was struck. North Plainfield Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick Hospital, where she died of her injuries the following day.
Police said the driver remained at the scene, but no charges have been filed. The accident is currently under investigation.
