RAM Law client was a victim of two consecutive motor vehicle accidents one month apart. After the second accident, the client began to experience hearing loss in one of his ears. Prior to the accidents, the client was diagnosed with progressive hearing loss and underwent stapedectomy surgery to place a micro implant in the client’s ear. This restored the client’s hearing until the accidents. The client’s surgeon determined that the impacts from the motor vehicle accidents caused the implant to crack resulting in hearing loss. The client underwent revision surgery which was not successful. The client then received hearing aids which restored the client’s hearing.
The case was settled following the client’s deposition and before the bulk of discovery was completed.
