Accidents between motor vehicles and bicycles result in serious, if not catastrophic injuries. Cyclists must follow the same traffic rules as motorists and may ride on the road without a designated bike lane. Motorists should provide at least three feet of space when behind, beside, or passing a cyclist and watch for the rider to hand signal their intentions at intersections and stop signs.
